MIL-S-24286 (NOTICE 1), MILITARY SPECIFICATION: STEEL ARMOR PLATE, WROUGHT, HIGH-HARDNESS (03 NOV 1983)[S/S BY MIL-S-16216]., Specification MIL-S-24286(SHIPS), dated 2 February 1967, is hereby canceled. Future acquisition of replacement steel armor plate should be made under MIL-S-16216,Steel Plate, Alloy, Structural,High Yield Strength (HY-80 and HY-1OO).

【摘要】:Sometimescoaltarandpetroleumpitchesareheattreatedtherebyformingmesophasespheroids.Themesophasemaybepartiallysolubleinquinolineandcannotbeestimatedbythequinolineinsolubletest(TestMethodD2318).Thistestmethodprovidesfortheidentification,quantitativeestimation,andsizedeterminationofmesophasespheroids.Themesophaseinitiallyformsasspheroidsthatmaycoalescetoformavarietyofasymmetricalshapes.Thesmallestmesophaseparticlethatcanbedetectedwithcertaintyat400x00D7;or500x00D7;magnificationis4x03BC;mindiameter;mesophaseparticlessizeslessthan4x03BC;mshouldbeignored.Ifmesophasemateriallessthan4x03BC;minsizeisofinterest,thenmagnificationsof1000to1800x00D7;shallbeusedandtheresultsshouldbeappropriatelyidentified.Thismethodislimitedtodeterminingminorlevelsofmesophase,thatis,x2264;20%mesophase.1.1Thistestmethodcoverslaboratoryproceduresforthepreparationofgranularandmeltedsamplesformicroscopicanalysisusingreflectedlighttoidentifyandestimatetheamountandsizeofthemesophase.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
