【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardprovidesthegeneralprinciplesofatestmethodforevaluatingtheperformanceofcompletegarmentsorprotectiveclothingensemblesinaflashfireorothershortdurationexposures.Thistestmethodcharacterizesthethermalprotectionprovidedbygarments,basedonthemeasurementofheattransfertoafull-sizemanikinexposedtoalaboratorysimulationofafirewithcontrolledheatfluxdensity,durationandflamedistribution.Theheattransfermeasurementscanalsobeusedtocalculatethepredictedskinburninjuryresultingfromtheexposure.Inaddition,observationsarerecordedontheoverallbehaviourofthetestspecimenduringandaftertheexposure.Thismethodisusefulforthreetypesofevaluation:a)comparisonofgarmentorensemblematerials;b)comparisonofgarmentorensembledesign;andc)evaluationofanygarmentorensembleprototypeforaparticularapplicationortoaspecification.Eachtypeofevaluationhasdifferentgarmentorensemblerequirementsbecausethetestresultsaredependentonthetestmaterialperformance,onthegarmentsize,onthegarmentdesignandontheuseofensemblecomponents.Theresultsobtainedapplyonlytotheparticulargarmentsorensembles,astested,andforthespecifiedconditionsofeachtest,particularlywithrespecttotheheatfluxdensity,durationandflamedistribution.Forthepurposesofthistestmethod,theincidentheatfluxdensityislimitedtoanominallevelof84kW/m2.ThisInternationalStandardisintendedtobeusedtomeasureanddescribethebehaviourofcompletegarmentsorprotectiveclothingensemblesinresponsetoconvectiveandradiantenergyundercontrolledlaboratoryconditions,withtheresultsusedtooptimizegarmentcombinationsanddesigns.ThisInternationalStandardisnotintendedtobeusedtocomparethepropertiesofgarmentmaterialsorcombinationsofmaterialsunlessthetestspecimensareabsolutelyidenticalinsizeanddesign.Furthermore,thisInternationalStandardisnotintendedtobeusedtodescribeorappraisethefirehazardorfireriskunderactualfireconditions.However,theresultsofthistestcanbeusedaselementsofafireriskassessmentwhichtakesintoaccountallofthefactorsthatarepertinenttoanassessmentofthefirehazardofaparticularenduse.ConsiderationsfortheuseofthistestmethodareprovidedinAnnexA.Inter-laboratorydataforthetestmethodareprovidedinAnnexB.
